Our Viognier is grown on a combination of terrains on our estate, and the 2019 fruit was carefully picked in small batches as the different sites managed to perfectly ripen their fruit. They were whole bunch pressed to a combination of 225L French oak barrels ranging in age from 2nd-4th fill, and this year enjoyed the addition of a concrete-fermented portion too. The nose is filled with aromas of peach blossom, jasmine flower and mandarin zest, and with the swirl of a glass, if you really pay attention, some Herbs de Provence too. Our cool climate’s influence on the ripening of this grape is vital in maintaining Viognier’s natural acidity, and adds edge to an already elegant offering.
